Soumya Sinha Roy studies the molecular mechanisms regulating cell death, with a focus on apoptosis. His lab uses molecular and cell biology approaches to decode signaling cascades involved in programmed cell death and organelle interactions.
Specific Interests
- Regulation of mitochondrial pathways of apoptosis
- Altered apoptotic signaling during tumor progression
- MicroRNA-mediated regulation of apoptosis
His research also explores mitochondrial dynamics and endoplasmic reticulum–mitochondria crosstalk during apoptosis. These studies aim to better understand how disruptions in cellular signaling contribute to diseases such as cancer and metabolic disorders.
