Portrait of Sherry Bhalla

Sherry Bhalla uses computational networks and machine learning to integrate multi-omics data—from genome to proteome—to better understand disease mechanisms. Her lab focuses on uncovering molecular drivers of cancer initiation, progression, drug resistance, and metastasis.

Key Research Interests

  • Identifying key drivers in cancer subtypes for personalized medicine
  • Studying omics-based determinants of drug response in cancer patients
  • Multi-omics-informed cell line selection tailored to cancer subtypes

The lab integrates multi-omics datasets using systems biology and machine learning approaches to identify subtype-specific cancer drivers. A major focus is on developing predictive and prognostic models, along with exploring innovative therapeutic strategies to improve disease diagnosis, prevention, and treatment.
